well, its not only the academic curriculum which changes so much as we move from class 10th to 11th, its basically the world changes around us,we also change to ourselves, a new listings of aims and objective is laid down and hence once again the vicious rat race begins, again giving us the false assurance that if you do "crack" this, the world will be yours,so was the case with me too, soon after my board exams i found myself again in front of a booklet ,as usual and in the very conventional way i went through it giving out whatever i had to offer and so it was over,it was not the exam in particular which caught my attention but the crowd, the rush and the so called commercialization of education which were new to me.finally i was fortunate to find my name in the coveted list and was even more fortunate to see that smile on my dads face, frankly speaking it was good.
so after hardly a fortnight after finishing my exams i was ready to be processed in the coaching factory,it was awesome initially but soon change of place etc started to linger around and the pace at which the factory moves is ruthless, unforgiving and rewarding , it depends on u which one u want.for me it was an ok kind of experience not so good but may be a bit bad,the same remained for the next 3 years of mental stagnation.
apart from academics what i noticed was, the change in peer behavior,it change drastically and that for useless nonsense,i was also not different so i too, did change.
it also gave me chance to interact with people with diff regionality and diff intelligence level,it was indeed a plethora of human awesomeness for that job and for that age.
for the first time i went for a movie with friends and by the year end i had seen more than 40 movies, there was this place called rajdarbar, which made sure that you feel like a king when you taste its chicken delicacies, then fooling around talwandi or jawaharnagar etc during the night.it was a whole list of firsts which i and my friends had there.
by the end of first year i had known some tough ground realities and it was made evident and clear to me that i needed to study,so i started and i think i started well, only to be sidelined by jaundice, and once again i was enjoying my jaundice vacation,i think jaundice had a take on 3 of my other friends too.
after i came back i things were casual and fun as i took them casually and made fun of them.well time passed and i had a sudden shocking realization that i needed to pass class 12th first, and to make things worse i realized this a week before my last board exams.so finally it started with buying of whole set of NCERT books and a week long hibernation in my room aloofing myself from outside world, finally to have a sigh of relief when i went through my result, had a failed attempt in jee so thought for going a drop and as i learnt on later that it was a mistake, just hanging around in the middle of somewhere destined to reach nowhere,ya there were moments of fun and frolic, hours of tears and ya days of sleep.
Me and my few lucky chosen friends had a chance to see the world from the other side of the bars for a couple of hours, squeakily we just managed to save our asses.well the year ended and i had again my quota of gyan "we stand together only to fall alone".
i was lucky enough to do away with the mistakes i did with my studies and one fine morning in a black half pant i was standing infront of my college.
i know that i was lucky as there are few who say that to me but the thing is that i always had a very very clear vision of what i wanted and i had no option of compromising and hence i learnt the real meaning of courage, and later on for my college i needed this courage in loads to survive and face its different shades.
Three years went pass by,i learnt a couple of things and dodged a lot of them but there was this real lesson for life still missing from my grasp and my college as it would turn out to be gave me that along with my higher education.
The morning was cold and foggy, there was rush all around and i was observing my first mature spate with a system or rather should i say a machine, very well maintained oiled and crafted to perfection for its job.
I WAS AT NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY,CALICUT.
